Formation of the League

A meeting was held at Canterbury Bowls club on Thursday 4 February 2010 to discuss the possible formation of a mixed triples club league. Present at the meeting were representatives of bowls clubs from Ashford Town, Canterbury, Faversham, Herne Bay and Minster.

It was generally agreed that a new league was a viable proposition and the East Kent Mixed Triples Bowling League chosen as the league name. Subject to formal confirmation from all 5 clubs, it was agreed that the league would commence during the forthcoming 2010 season with clubs playing each other on a home and away basis.

The current officers of the men’s Forest of Blean league, Dick Mortley (Chairman), Brian Dennis (Treasurer) and Bill Robb (Secretary) agreed to fill the same posts for the new league during the initial season. Following that the positions will be voted for annually at the AGM.

Subsequent to the meeting all 5 clubs confirmed their commitment to the new league for 2010 and became the founder members.
